Wikipedia: The Chelsea Art Museum is a contemporary art museum in New York City. It is also Home of the Miotte Foundation, which is committed to archiving and protecting the works of Jean Miotte and providing new scholarship and research on L’Informel. Miotte’s collected works are conserved as a legacy for New York, where he has kept a studio in SoHo since 1978. The museum is located at 556 West 22nd Street in Manhattan, New York. The museum focuses its exhibitions on reflecting contemporary human understanding across a broad range of cultural, social, environmental and geographical perspectives. The Chelsea Art Museum includes works that focus on uncharted dimensions of 20th and 21st Century art, including artists that have been exposed more in their home countries than the United States. Its location, in the heart of Chelsea in New York City and opposite the piers, served as an entry for many foreign cultures where they arrived and assimilated into New York.
